Hello, I am a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the 3D Audio and Applied Acoustics (3D3A) Lab at Princeton University, advised by Prof. Edgar Choueiri. I received a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Art History at Peking University in 2019.

I am interested in spatial audio reproduction, real-time audio DSP with deep learning, and VR/AR audio in general. During my PhD, I have been focusing on building head-tracked personal sound zone systems that allow headphone-free, personalized spatial audio delivery to multiple listeners. In my spare time, I am also enthusiastic in performing & composing music, and am a member of the Princeton Laptop Orchestra (PLOrk). (Here is an interview of me if you are interested to know more!)

I am currently looking for industry opportunities in spatial audio related research roles after my PhD graduation (expected in Summer 2024). Please contact me if you know of such positions! :slightly_smiling_face:

Aug 16, 2023 I was awarded AES Educational Foundation Scholarship Recognition this year! Check out the official announcement.
May 15, 2023 Our latest work on personal sound zones was presented at AES 154 at Aalto University in Finland. We discussed optimal spatial sampling scheme for implementing head-tracked personal sound zones. at Meta was presented at the AES 153 Convention.
Oct 26, 2022 My internship work at Meta was presented at the AES 153 Convention. We proposed a machine-learning-based model for the evaluation of spatial audio quality, a critical step in comparison & improvement of spatial audio algorithms and hardware systems.
Aug 16, 2022 I presented in a workshop titled “Personal Sound Zones for AR/VR Applications” at the AES AVAR 2022 Conference. (slides)
May 19, 2022 Our conference paper presented at the 152nd AES Convention won the best student paper award! See also the post from our department.
